Today my girl Anise and I went downtown Vancouver for some retail therapy, I came home with some vintage orange round sunglasses, a black flower cocktail ring, 2 pairs of cross earrings, black fedora, some paisley sneakers, "50 Designers You Should Know" book and a denim button down... well at least I got one thing I really needed. I completely forgot I have my great-grandmothers mink stole & rabbit fur coat at home so the fur shopping has come to a hault for the time being or at least until I retrieve them, fall in love all over again and realize I need much more fur (or faux) in my wardrobe.

Wearing: Vintage knit (ebay), grey lace tights, knee-high stockings (AA), vintage black wedges, armfull of bangles, the black cocktail ring I wore out of the store & a cross necklace.
I just recently finished the book "I ♥ Your Style" by Amanda Brooks forwarded by Diane Von Furstenburg. It was quite good, a guide to finding your own style using real inspiration besides what we see in the ads everyday.
"Shopping in the world of high fashion can be a full time job (which presents a problem because you probably need a full time job in order to pay for it). Fashion today comes and goes more quickly than ever before, and it takes a trained and disciplined eye to follow and anticipate it's changes: from fashion magazine, to runway shows, to finding what you want, to getting on the waiting list for what you want, to returning things you don't want, to figuring out what to wear it with, to calculate weather it's worth the price. Just writing about it exhausts me. But I do it. I do all of the above. Because I love fashion. I am a total addict. I am a slave. And I enjoy it, it's thrilling, it's rewarding, and it's creative. That's the key. You can only be devoted to fashion if you enjoy the entire process. If you don't there are a million other ways to spend your time and money." - Amanda Brooks "I ♥ Your Style" excerpt from The "What to Look For" section of the 'Designer' chapter;

I really enjoyed this book, I didn't read it from beginning to end, however, which I later found out upon reading the first few chapters is more the way it's intended to be read. Flipping to the section that most appeals to you. I started in the middle and pretty much jumped around the whole book, but it was a great read. It did have a lot of things I already knew, but a different outlook on things plus some things I honestly never knew. I'd definitely suggest giving this book flip through whether you're a fashion junkie or style newbie, I picked up mine at Urban Outfitters but I know amazon sells copies too.

I'm off to have some wine, watch some films & visit space,
have a great evening, loves.
