Vivienne Westwood Spring 2011

Wearing: lace headband (H&M), love potion tank (made by yours truly), skinny jeans (Mavi), vintage black patent wedges, various chains, bangles & rings.

Alex finished up some of the shots from our photoshoot the other day, and I made one of them my first post on lookbook.nu, so check it out & hype if you dig it. I'll be posting more of the shots soon but in the meantime you should definitely check out Alex's work @ sharp shutter studio and I'll also be placing a link to his work over to the left.

Also did some shopping today, not much but got some great accessories (including more crosses, a really dope pair of vintage gypsy earrings, and my new favorite fall boots which I picked up at a consignment store that, unfortunately, I can't remember the name of for the life of me) but you can check out my full haul on my youtube channel @ The Style Whxre takes on vlogging...

I watched the Vivienne Westwood Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear collection that was shown in Paris today. I can't say I loved absolutely everything about it, but there was a lot I really did like. Especially the hat in the image above (there was another lovely similar black one I very much liked as well). I also really enjoyed the light, flowing plaid dresses.
I found the collection had a good balance between the incredibly structured pieces and the lighter, more flowing pieces that have been seen a lot on the runways this season.

love love love these very loose fitting, silky pants

I have to say though, my favorite aspect of all fashion shows is that it is just that...a show. The make up for Viviennes runway show was fantastic!
“This is a makeup that starts off with a totally pretty base…and then we go nuts with colour on it! The final result is more like an impressionist painting.” - Gordon Espinet for MAC Cosmetics had said about the concept. And boy, did they go wild with the colors, in a fabulously theatrical way. However, I would expect nothing less from the fabulous Vivienne Westwood.

I am almost finished the "50 Designers You Should Know" book, so I'll be posting a review on that soon. That's all for this evening, I'm now going to enjoy a glass of white zinfandel and some fashion television.
