Jacqueline Conoir Fall 2010 & StyleLikeU

As mentioned before, I recently attended the Jacqueline Conoir (jcstudio.ca) Fall 2010 Winter Collection launch party hosted by luvn'grace. I had a fantastic time, sitting front row with the fabulous Jose Luis of The Fashion Guard. A lot of the collection was more business dress than I would normally wear - of course with JCs sleek, classy 'power suit' physique that's to be expected - but the perfectly tailored trousers and a few of the show-stopping dresses we're some of the pieces I could absolutely see myself in. Below are some shots of my favorite dresses courtesy of Dan Poh & jcstudio.ca

The black and gold gown to the left above is my absolute favorite of the entire collection, it is so stunning.
A huge congratulations to RozeMerie Cuevas for a fantastic fall collection.

I decided I must share with you all my current style inspiration obsession, I'm sure most of you have heard of this website and visit it regularly. I had visited it occasionally, but recently I've found myself browsing the closet, blog and editorial archives to find new inspiration or interesting facts and I'm always successful.

a few of my favorite closet interviews are definitely with Uffie, Ally Hilfiger, Sophia Lamar, Lori Goldstien and Zelda Kaplan - who is the exact kind of fearlessly fashionable woman I want to become when I'm 94. - among others. So if you haven't been to StyleLikeU, you need to check it and browse the closets. You will find endless pages of inspirational people with fantastic individual style and I suggest everyone check out this site asap, you will not be disappointed.

glam GALA & LuvnGrace presents Blushing Boutique: Story of a Girl

Wow, this week has been filled with final projects, new classes, a little bit of insanity and events. TGIF!

Tuesday night I attended the Sears glam GALA, swag bag of perfumes and samples, ELLE magazine and other goodies. Martinis, appetizers, fruit and I recieved a fantastic new huge, water-proof, black bag that is absolutely perfect for school and plane trips from BIOTHERM when I purchased the BIOSOURCE face wash. Actually, on top of the free bag I also got a free BAUME CORPSE oil therapy treatment, eye make-up remover, and some other little goodies. It was definitely a fantastic purchase. I'll be sure let you know when the next event will be happening so you can get a ticket and enjoy some exclusive discounts and a nice cocktail hour.

Last night I attended Blushing Boutique: Story of a Girl presented by LuvnGrace and club 560 with the POOQ team. We set everything up and I did some walking around to check the other accessory booths out, some beautiful pearl and Swarovski crystal necklaces caught my eye

BUN by Carola

Carola is a local jewelry designer here in Vancouver and I absolutely suggest checking out her facebook page @ HouseofBUN.

The Queen of Hearts from The Tutu Collection

This piece especially caught my eye, I need to suggest this to my mom for Christmas. Such a beautiful piece, how fabulous would this be with the perfect LBD this holiday season? Lust List item for sure. I'd love to be able to talk with Carola more to find out about the collection and her inspirations sometime in the near future.

After a few vodka/crans, and a lot of mingling and a great performance the fashion show finally started... the delay was definitely a damper on my mood but I had a really good time overall.

BLUSHING BOUTIQUE

The pieces above were probably the ones I loved the most, although the show was in a club and so I had some dancing and head-blockage, so I'm going to have to go to Blushing Boutique a.s.a.p to check it all out! If you're living in Vancouver I suggest checking it out @ 579 Richards Street, it'll be worth it... you have my word! To see more shots of the event check out their facebook page @ Blushing Boutique.

Shelley Klassen of Blushing Boutique/Blushing Designs

I've started my internship full speed ahead, be sure to check out the POOQ blog all the time and check out my blog posts over there!

Smoulder POOQ Purse Hook from the Vanity collection

I mean, how fabulous and convenient are these? They are the 'Louis Vuitton' of purse hooks, so a) you're hand bag isn't sitting on a dirty floor or getting stolen/robbed and it's still always with you, but out of your way and b) you don't have to devalue you're precious handbag baby with a tacky purse holder. And they even come in the cutest silver POOQETTE tin...

Amethyst POOQ from the Bijou collection inside of its POOQETTE

Perfect stocking stuffers for this holiday season and will be on discount @ social shopper the week of November 22 and if you plan on checking out Blushing Boutique in the near future you can pick some up from there.
For me? I need every single one, for every single one of my handbags... I plan to start with Coquette, Amethyst and Smoulder. Also how perfect are POOQs to hang your Christmas stockings in style? Each one has their own individual character and personality, just like hand bags get personality and to me that's the coolest thing.

Alright ladies, all for tonight. I'm now going to be apartment searching and my blogs @ POOQ will be frequent, I'll be back with a new post in the next couple of days so stay tuned.

much love, babydolls.

Klosit Launch Party

Wearing: vintage teashades, cream vintage cropped crochet cardigan (mother's closet), black camisole, black maxi skirt (U.O).

I just got home from the launch party for Klosit. It was fantastic, there are so many items I need to own, but luckily I did pick up a beautiful floral patterned pashmena scarf.

Candy 2 pocket shirt

Becca Belted 7 Button Coat

Carol Military Cape Coat

These are definitely three pieces I absolutely need. Among others...
The line is designed by Klaudia Lo from here in Vancouver, she's incredibly talented with phenomenal taste... and she's such an awesome chick! The party was fabulous, including hair, makeup (by the fabulous Ivy Shih, who introduced me to olive green eyeshadow for the first time ever!) and photo shoots with photographer Kien Ly and I can't wait until the shots are posted.

I've finished the Alexander McQueen book now as well, so Alexander McQueen tribute post with the review of his Spring 2011 collection finished by Sarah Burton and the book.

John Lennons 70th & Printemps loves New York party

Jon & Yoko in the matching white pant suits in the "Stand by Me" video; one of my favorites...the song, and the pant suits.

again, the "Stand by Me" video

John Lennon changed the world as we know it. He's influenced musicians, artists and well, everyone. He changed the way we view music, and was an activist before activism was even a word. And what about the love of his life Yoko Ono? she's influenced style for decades...

Together, they were the ultimate power couple. If you don't already know today would have been John's 70th birthday, and over on youtube there is an insane amount of tribute videos up already with a cute little John Lennon youtube doodle, and there's also a Lennon Google-Doodle up today.

John and Yoko's everlasting love being displayed during one of their infamous 'bed-ins'

Happy Birthday Jon, you're missed by everyone but will continue to influence the world forever, I urge you all to give peace a chance.

Riccardo Tisci & Liv Tyler @ Printemps loves New York.

Recently another one of my favorite artists performed at the Printemps loves New York party hosed by V magazine and Printemps, none other than fashions punk darling, Courtney Love.

Wearing a stunning Givenchy pantsuit, she performed one of my all time favorite Hole songs, "Malibu" and covers of "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Like a Prayer" for a front row crowd including Riccardo and Liv, and Courts dear friend Karl Lagerfeld...
.
"What we wanted to do was bring the energy of New York, it's creativity and nightlife" - Stephen Gan of Printemps said of the event, which was an overall success, and in my opinion when you've got Love performing at your event, it can't not be a hit.

My Nana and Momma are taking me shopping tomorrow, and turkey dinner Sunday... Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
